Vintage Iron World Championships - June 22-23, 2002

The 2002 Vintage Iron World Championships was another great event. I've been to all five of the VIWCs and this one was awesome! Excellent track design, a first straight that seemed about a mile long, and a huge Daytona first turn. It's not everyday that you get to go around a berm like that one.

The YROC was no exception. The past champs battled out in every moto with Broc Glover taking the overall YROC Championship. Georges Jobe was keepin' him honest the whole weekend and took the runner up spot. Rick at Vintage Iron has vowed to make next years race even better. With the crew he has under him the sky is the limit. I can't wait until next year!

The podium everyone is trying to get to.

If you see this sign you know you're at Glen Helen.

One awesome first straight!

Another awesome YROC event provided by Yamaha.

YROC Champions bike. Multi-time AMA Motocross
Champion Broc Glover from the USA.

Second went to five time FIM World
Champion Georges Jobe from Belgium.

Australia's "MR. MOTOCROSS" Steven Gall was also
a top contender for this years YROC.

YROC racers chillin' for the SPEED CHANNEL

Just listening to the bench races was one
of the coolest parts of the weekend.
